Welcome to the Olive Oil Experiences by family Melissakis

We are the Melissakis family, fourth-generation olive oil producers and family-owned olive millers from Crete. For more than 130 years, we have lived the full olive oil cycle. We are farmers in the groves, millers at the press, and stewards of a tradition that ties us to our land and community.

Our story begins in the 1890s, in the traditional village of Tsivaras, Apokoronas, eastern Chania. Since then, we have cultivated olive trees and produced extra virgin olive oil using time-honored methods passed down through generations. At the 1960’s we formed a partnership company to formalize our cooperative spirit. This step allowed us to unite our families and merge our agricultural activities into a cohesive mission: to protect our shared legacy and open our doors to the world, combining traditional olive oil production with immersive cultural experiences.

In 2008, after almost 60 years of growing experience in olive oil processing, we moved to our new facility in the outskirts of our village. From here we welcome visitors to learn all yhe secrets of good olive oil!

Our facility is always open to public. During the harvesting season, you can watch the entire cold extraction process. But even if you visit us at another time, you can still take a tour in our plant and try our cold extracted, P.D.O.
