Discover Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Our Olive Mill currently offers three distinct activities: a casual visit, a free guided olive oil tour, and a 4-hour Cretan olive oil gastronomy experience.

Visit the Olive Mill

Our Olive Mill is a modern cold extraction plant, located just outside the traditional village of Tsivaras, Apokoronas, Chania, Crete. As the first of our offered activities, it is easily accessible and open to tourists, groups, foodies and olive oil enthusiasts.

If you visit during working hours, you can take a look around and sample our local, cold-extracted Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Afterward, you can admire the Millennial Olive Tree in our yard and see some machinery from past decades. Finally, you can browse our shop and discover high-quality local products.

There is no charge or fee for visiting, apart from any purchases you might make.

Join the Green Drops Tour

The Green Drops Tour is a free olive oil tour, and the second of the possible activities we offer. It offers an introduction and insight into the olive oil world. This 30-45 minute tour consists of five parts:

  • A tour of the Old Olive Mill, also known as “fabrika”, featuring millstones and a wooden press, as well as our Millennial Olive Tree.
  • A tour of the modern centrifugal unit, with an explanation of modern olive oil production and extraction methods.
  • An introduction to the Mediterranean diet and its health benefits, as wella as guidance on understanding EVOO labels and how to buy authentic, high-quality olive oil.
  • Tasting of olive oil and various local products.
  • Questions and answers.
